Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe
My mom made these when I was a little girl, all the way up into my adult years. This was the recipe she used, and whenever I make these, it brings a sense of comfort. I am not sure where she got the recipe from, but wanted to share this one with you. They are so tasty!
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1 stick butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Cream together: Shortening, butter, sugar and eggs
Blend dry ingredients together (Flour, Cream of Tartar, baking soda and salt) and mix together with other mixture, then mix 2 tsp. each sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough into balls, and then roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes
