When the warm weather of Summer arrives, I always start craving fruit. And fruity drinks. Sometimes even fruity cocktails! I wanted to create a fun Summer drink, so after some trial and error (and some frivolity), my friend and I came up with two fun and fruity martini recipes. I will be sharing one of the cocktail recipes later, but for now, I would like to introduce you to the Peach Pom Martini!
I guess you could say I am somewhat of a citrus fiend. From the time I was a child, I have loved fresh lemon juice (I used to eat plain Meyers lemons!), orange juice, and anything else that had a “zing” to it. I also loved (and still do) nectarines and peaches.
If you have been searching for a cocktail that contains peach, orange and lemon flavors, this one is for you! Add a couple of cinnamon sticks to provide flavor and a nice finishing touch, and you have yourself a bright and cheerful drink to serve to your guests, or to even just enjoy at home.
There is nothing better than a refreshing drink on a hot summer day – except maybe hanging out with friends poolside to have a refreshing peach martini cocktail, like the Peach Pom Martini! This is so incredibly tasty and a really easy to make fruity summer cocktail.
What goes into this beautiful cocktail?
3 oz. Pearl Pomegranate Vodka
1 oz. Peach Schnapps
Splash of orange juice
Juice of 1/3rd of a lemon
Cinnamon stick for garnish {optional}
What is a Martini without Vermouth called?
You might have noticed that our Peach Pom Martini recipe doesn’t call for any Vermouth. The traditional Martini recipe does call for Vermouth, but there are so many variations these days, and Vermouth isn’t always included anymore. A Martini that has just some Vermouth is called a “Dry Martini” and if it only has a little or even no Vermouth in it, it is called an “Extra-dry Martini”.
How to make a Peach Martini
In a stemless martini glass, pour the Pearl Pomegranate Vodka into the bottom. Next slowly add the Peach Schnapps, then a splash of orange juice. The final layer will be the lemon juice. Don’t stir – part of the beauty of this cocktail is the pretty, colorful layers. For a dazzling finishing touch, and to really wow your guests, rest a whole cinnamon stick on the inside of the glass.
Cheers!
