Caramel Brownies Recipe

Every time I open a new carton of Challenge Butter, I see the yummy Dulce de Leche Brownies recipe printed on the inside.  I have wanted to make them for the longest time, and yesterday I did just that!

I have linked the recipe above, but I wanted to show you my results!

I first mixed butter, granulated and brown sugar:

Then I added the eggs and vanilla and also began making the Dulce de Leche

I mixed the dried ingredients together and added them to the butter/sugar mixture:

Per the directions, I spread half of the brownie batter in the pan, then added the Dulce de Leche, then the rest of the batter on top:

Mmmmmm….see the sauce oozing out?

Although this was a fairly easy recipe, there are a couple of things I would do differently. For the Dulce de Leche, they give microwave directions. This was really time-consuming to keep checking on it and I don’t know that it got the right consistency. Next time I would definitely make this on the stove top. I also put too much brownie batter on the first layer of the pan, so covering up the Dulce de Leche for the top layer was a bit tricky.

Overall rating? FABULOUS!

Make sure you check out the Challenge Butter site for more yummy recipes!

I made those brownies last month and they were delicious! The whole family loved them.
Mine probably didn’t look as nice as yours 🙁

Yummy! And I love Dulce de Leche. My grandmother used to make it on the farm with “old milk” and goats milk. It was so delicious.
