In our house of a gadzillion boys, we are all about one-pot dishes like these Casseroles with Hamburger Meat.

They are easy and quick to pull together. Plus, they are substantial enough to satisfy even the hungriest growing guy!

Most of the ground hamburger recipe ideas below have a 30 minute cooking time or less – meaning dinner can be ready super fast tonight!

These ground beef casserole recipes are hearty, comfort food that is full of flavor.

Plus, these one-pot dishes are quick to make and easy to clean up after.

They are totally perfect for a busy weeknight dinner!

Pantry Staple Ingredients:

Most of the following hamburger casseroles use simple ingredients that most people already have on hand.

For me, there are typical ingredients that I always have in my fridge, freezer, and pantry. These things mean that I can always feed my family, even if we are in desperate need of a grocery run.

I keep things like:

  • tomato sauce
  • cream of mushroom soup
  • chicken & beef broths or stocks
  • diced tomatoes and tomato sauce
  • green beans
  • macaroni and egg noodles

With the above ingredients as well as a few yummy spices like Italian seasoning, taco seasoning, and garlic powder you can pretty much ALWAYS make a filling dish for your family.

Choose a starch, some meat, a couple cans, seasonings, cheese and bake up perfection.

A well-stocked kitchen also has at least one baking dish – if not multiple casserole dishes in different sizes, materials, and with or without lids!

What’s the difference between a stew and a casserole?

Some people will tell you that there isn’t really a big difference between the two. However, this Southern Momma will tell you that there is a HUGE difference!

While the two include the same main parts: meat, veggies, a starch (rice, pasta, or potatoes), and sauce – a stew is typically saucier. There are more juices with a stew and it should be eaten with a spoon – not as clear as a soup, but there is definitely dripping liquid.

The casserole’s juices are cooked out or absorbed into the starch – but also, you start with less liquid. So, you can easily eat it with a fork. Also, a casserole usually has cheese to help hold it all together.

Plus, a typical casserole is cooked in the oven while a stew is cooked on the stovetop. Note: I said “typical” because there are exceptions to every rule.

Are you ready for some quick and easy recipes to add to your line-up? From creamy mushroom gravies to spicy TexMex flavors, there is a little something for everyone in this recipe collection.

Then, check out these hamburger casserole recipes!

They are all tried-and-true recipes and you are going to love them.
